That’s good advice from Robin on seeing how you may be able to improve. Once you have that information, you may want to consider using it in a new location to get a fresh start. If they’ve already decided you’re not management material, they may not be willing to acknowledge any growth you show. Fortunately, there are many jobs in your field and you may be able to get hired as a manager to start.
Get the feedback first, it may be valuable. Receive it graciously and thank them for it, even if you feel defensive at the moment.
Don’t leave until you have another job and leave graciously, don’t burn bridges; you may need references later.
In many fields, the only way to get a raise or be compensated fairly is to switch companies. That’s our reality today.
