I’ve been thinking of engaging a third-party to rewrite my resume as I don’t seem to get many hits on it on blind submissions. Granted, I know an internal reference or utilizing my network is the best way to go to get in front of a hiring manager, but sometimes that’s just not an option. Has anyone had success with this? They’re kind of expensive so before I sink a few hundred dollars into this, I want to ensure it’s worth it. If you have had success, can you drop in the comments who you used? Thanks so much!

Hi,
I used HireClub.com for my resume rewrite.
TBH, it's the best decision I made. Not only did I have an awesome resume at the end of the experience, but the questions that were asked about my experience and the perspective the writers had really made me feel fantastic about the accomplishments I'd had.
It was a great experience and I highly recommend the community and the writers.

Rebecca,
I absolutely believe hiring a qualified, credentialed resume writer is the best option. As one of 23 Master Resume Writers in the world, I can tell you this: prices are all over the board...not all resume writers are created equal...and you generally get what you pay for.
If you would like, grab a copy of "How to Assess Resume Writers" here: https://www.linkedin.com/in/lesacareercoach/detail/overlay-view/urn:li:fsd_profileTreasuryMedia:(ACoAAAG5spsB-UdJFrkkhvQSGiGjsLzc8fT03AQ,1594069046406)/
This document will help you with the questions you should ask a prospective resume writer and how to assess them. Hope this helps!
If you would like to schedule a consult with me, let me know and I'll send you a link to my calendar.

As a career coach I would echo what Alison said about the added benefits of having a professional assess and help you write your resume. There's a huge confidence boost to having someone else help you realize what your accomplishments are and putting language behind them that translates to transferable skills. It's certainly an investment, but if you find a good resume coach who is going to spend time asking you questions you'll end up with more than just a resume - you'll have an interview strategy and the confidence to nail it!

I have been considering this as well, and had sent my resume to a company that first does a free analysis. After doing a little research, I would advise you to beware of some of the online coaching companies. This post really opened my eyes:

I will probably be using a professional resume writer, but either a local one, or someone on here!
