I'm in the final stages of possibly landing a job at a phenomenal company out of state, in an area I'd love to move to. My SO and I would rent out there but we need to sell our house first. His job is flexible so no issue there and we don't have kids. Luckily we live in a desirable area where the houses…

Since then, I’ve been actively applying for jobs but rarely hear back. When asked why I’m looking for a new job in interviews, I haven’t always been sincere, giving different reasons. Recently, I decided to be upfront and told an interviewer that I was made redundant. But their response thre…

Offer a great product or service at a fair price, treat customers well, and make sure that what you're offering is something people want. If they can't get something comparable elsewhere for a better price. and they do want your product/service, word of mouth will help you grow your business. You might also offer incentives; for example, if you're a new hairstylist, offer a discount both for the first service and for posting before and after photos on social media (tagging you so you know they did it). Think about places you are loyal to and why; I have a favorite Indian restaurant that I have been going to ever since my children were born and they have seen my kids grow up. Whenever my kids are in town, we make a point of going there. It's because the food is consistently delicious and reasonably priced, and the service is friendly. I have been going to the same hairstylist for decades now because I like what he does, he's really kind and fun to be around, and he has kept his prices reasonable. He doesn't do any advertising, but he gets new customers through word of mouth.
