Why working from home as been a dream for my mental health and productivity

I know this isn't for everyone but I'm loving the WFH setup right now. Because of less distractions, I'm getting SO much more work done in a short amount of time. I've been able to cut off 1.5 hours of my commute each day which gives me so much time of my life back. And I've been able to take mid-day workout breaks more often -- which gives me a new boost of energy to be productive for the 2nd half of my workday. For those who are working from home, do you have any positives that have come from this?

I am 100% with you. My dream when this is over is to work in the office 1-2 days a week and the rest at home. I enjoy the interactions in person, however I am so much more productive and happy at home. The reduction in interruptions, the ability to work out whenever I want to, the ability to step away and enjoy my space (rather than walking around outside at the office) has made me a happier person. I believe I exude that happiness on calls and am now the one when topics go negative I bring us back to positive. My house stays cleaner (my husbands lays thing around all day, I can put it all back throughout the day then be overwhelmed when I come home tired).

I love working from home, too. I can get up early to tackle emails before my kids get up. Take a break at noon to workout or go for a walk and stay online later if necessary. Cutting out having to look nice every morning is also a huge benefit in my eyes.

Totally agree on the commute! When I moved to Ohio from the SF Bay Area, my commute went from 1.5 hrs each way to 20 minutes. Now that I'm working from home, it's even less! I like being able to go outside and get fresh air around our property. I also like being able to jump downstairs and prep something for dinner, throw something in the oven or do a quick load of laundry. It forces me to take regular breaks.

I do too. Apparently I'm the only person in my department that loves it. I'm looking forward to a slow return to the office, and sounds like an opportunity to WFH at least part of the week!
