I'm in the final stages of possibly landing a job at a phenomenal company out of state, in an area I'd love to move to. My SO and I would rent out there but we need to sell our house first. His job is flexible so no issue there and we don't have kids. Luckily we live in a desirable area where the houses…

Since then, I’ve been actively applying for jobs but rarely hear back. When asked why I’m looking for a new job in interviews, I haven’t always been sincere, giving different reasons. Recently, I decided to be upfront and told an interviewer that I was made redundant. But their response thre…

I can see why you were surprised but I also think it's not necessary to bring this up as an issue. When you next talk with him or her (NOT email) you might say: X person made some small edis which is great, and now that I know what you're looking for, I'll be sure to submit my work that way. It might be that your boss gives more mundane tasks to someone who is paid less and lets ppl who are paid more work on content--you did say this is a new omployee. It could have nothing to do with you and wanting to do it yourself might be seen as you wanting to spend your more highly paid time working on fonts, when your boss doesn't want you to do. Just follow the edito's lead and turn your work in that way and perhaps it'll never be edited again. COuld be a win-win for you if you handle it correctly

Please see if your organization has brand guidelines that you can follow or a PowerPoint product called PitchPro+ which overlays org-approved formatting. I get this was you first time doing a slide deck in this role but no one should have to go in and make font changes and align content.
If your boss asked this other person to edit your work and they accepted all of their updates and copy edits, I’d pay very close attention to the final product so you can learn and quickly adapt to their style.
If this was a high-visibility project, I don’t think anything is wrong collaborating with other colleagues. My experience tells me you’ll get a better end product.
