This became widely apparent at a center wide meeting today which included people from other offices in other cities. I'm still relatively new, started about 8 months ago but also pandemic, but no one at the meeting today seemed to know that I know nothing about water (my title is Hydrologist) and that I know a ton about math and statistics. I was able to give a lot of good feedback and everyone seemed extremely grateful and also a little disappointed that they didn't know they had this resource in house. Can I ask my supervisor for a title change? I don't want a raise (I work for the government, that's it's own whole thing). I just am thinking that a more descriptive title would help point people towards me who can use the math help or will get me more applicable work (and people will stop asking me about streams because I don't know).
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
