This is just something I wanted to get off my chest and see if anyone had any advice. Other than a platitude (which I appreciate but I need something more solid). I graduated from college with a bachelors degree 6 years ago. From the beginning of my senior semester to this day, I have been constantly applying to jobs. I was working a lot of seasonal retail work because I couldn't seem to get in anywhere. After two years of struggle, I finally got an entry position only to find out that it was a very toxic environment with no opportunities for growth. Fast forward almost five years, I still haven't stopped applying and I'm still trapped at the same low paying job with no end in sight. I have gone through resume reviews and rewrites. I've even hired someone to write mine. I've built a website and I've done a lot of leg work to try to get a job but I never make it passed the application. Has anyone else found themselves in a never ending rut? What did you do to break free? Does anyone have application notes or advice that could help me? Really, I just feel so hopeless and like I'm drowning in a job I hate, I would really like to be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks for reading my rant.
Update: I am a Graphic Designer with a Bachelor's in graphic design.
