I am considered an expert in my field and am currently working for Company A with a great base salary plus a generous bonus, essentially working alone doing things how I want to, with an opportunity for promotions.
BUT I am being pursued by Company B to focus on a specific portion of my industry (still within my area of expertise), working with an experienced assistant, with a base salary of $25k more than I make now with a bonus. The only downside is I would be essentially at the top with no room for promotions (only yearly merit and cost of living increases).
My problem is that at Company A I had some partners (and friends) who brought their business here when I came and would be very upset if I left. I also do like the people I work with, they are an awesome bunch.
But Company B offers an ability to focus on a side of the industry that I don't get to as often thus opening up the possibility for future new relationships.
I can see a real benefit to both staying with Company A and leaving for Company B.
So, experienced FGBers, how do you decide between 2 fantastic positions?

Follow up again two weeks after 3rd interview + reference check?
Applied for a position in December. Interviewed first week of January. It was a positive interview and the hiring manager emailed to say that they thought I'd be a good addition. Did a second interview with more technical questions. Did a third interview with the head of the department, who asked for my references. They called at least one of my references, who let me know that it sounded like they really liked me. Last I heard was "We'll be in touch shortly" after I sent them the references.
Two weeks later...crickets. Just keep waiting, or write a friendly followup to hiring manager that I'm still interested in the position?

Looking to move up without overshadowing someone
I am in a contract senior role with a new company (about 7 months in) and very much experienced but has always been challenged with speaking up for fear of stepping on someone who is now my direct manager. I like her a lot and even tho she is much younger, I know I can learn a lot since she has been with the company a lot longer than I am. Looking for some insights on how to frame my ideas or opinions during calls without overstepping and still stay humble about it.

Has anyone experienced an interview process like this?
I recently had a 3rd interview with the owner of facilities who is opening a new location in my area. The position is one in management. The owner does not live here and has to fly in to meet with me.
The process thus far has raised red flags. My 3rd interview was initially scheduled for first week of January. It was then pushed back a week, and then delayed again. It was delayed 4 times. A date was finally set but then it took until a few days before to receive a time.
The morning of the interview I was contacted by the owner. He stated that his flight was delayed and he would need to meet with me an hour later.
I finally get to the interview and it’s a mess. His phone keeps going off with phone, text, and email notifications - for which he gave me a play by play. He answers a few calls during the interview.
When we were reaching the tail end of the interview he asked me a final question. In the middle of me answering he stopped me and told me he needed to send an email before the top of the next hour.
I waited for 10 minutes as he became frustrated with something online. Eventually he returned to our conversation but could not recall what question he had asked me, let alone my response.
My concern is how he operates. He’s very inconsiderate and it makes me worry about how it would be to work for him. I’m especially concerned that the time line he has provided for my start date, deadlines for initial priority work, and opening of the facility are subject to change significantly.
He has so far been unreliable when adhering to commitments. I don’t want to put in notice at my job only for him to say “oh hey, I need you to start in 5 weeks instead.”
The issue is that my current role has become increasingly difficult due to upper management having continual emotional struggles on a regular basis. I want to leave my role but I don’t want to walk into an equally difficult situation.

Very depressed at current job.
i realize that the team that I’m on is just not for me and I don’t have a way of moving around either, I just rather look for work elsewhere. Main problem with my team is lack of support from not only my co workers but my manager. Been here almost a year and I feel like I’m managing her and my co workers more than she managing us. It just feels degrading to have people making more money than you not doing their job. My manager basically has a “do whatever you want” kind of energy which you would think is great but unfortunately I’m the one who picks up all the slack when others do whatever they want. I have spoken to her and her boss several times and it’s not changing. Looking for work is also very depressing. Just tryna stay hopeful that I’ll soon find a job that won’t make me break down. People who have been at their jobs 4+ years have no idea how lucky they are, even if they aren’t too happy with the job they at least are satisfied enough to stay. Would appreciate any encouraging advice, thank yall!

I am constantly harrassed by my boss in the following ways.
Gaslighting constantly, which makes me second guess myself. Not allowing accommodations for my ADA issue and telling me I have to write down my time for everything I do. I reported it to our board chair but nothing has been done. I am currently looking for another job. I'm hoping it come quickly. I know what I am worth even if others don't.
