To deal with the stressors directly, communication. If it's the kind of situation that can be avoided, I talk with the person(s) involved to see if we can come to a resolution. Other times, a "safe" person to whom to vent can be extraordinarily helpful.
Overall, I get stress relief from deep belly breaths (it really does work!), and letting off steam by watching "comfort" shows and movies, listening to really loud music, singing at top volume, and dancing. When things get very intense I find taking CBD helpful.

I love all your tips! Breath work is a favorite of mine too. Please tell me a bit about what you do when you have a chance.

Thank you, E Sylvia! Meditation is my #1 go-to choice as well. What kind of meditation do you do?

Taking a walk or walk/run. I have a treadmill now because it's icy where I live during winter, but when the weather is nicer I enjoy walking outside. I also light some candles if possible, or play some nature sounds on headphones for a bit. Not gonna lie, cute animal videos or pictures also help, tee hee.

I'm in the same situation. Here on Long Island, it's cold and often icy in the winter but lovely the rest of the year when i take walks to the water which is about 7 blocks away. your other tips are terrific too! (love the fun videos!)
Your work sounds fascinating-how do you bridge Tech, philanthropy and art? Please tell :-)

If I am stressed at work I will take a moment to think of a peaceful or joyful memory or anything that brings me joy (i.e. a picture of my sweet dog) and then *breathe* and resume what I was doing. In relationships I find it helpful to pause before I respond and even just taking a deep breath and making sure I am understanding what is being said "so I am hearing you say..." before I launch into what I want to respond with...it can help clarify and clear up any confusion/misunderstandings sometimes.

I find that physical movement helps my stress level. If I'm at work (and can do it), I'll take a short walk around the block -- fresh air and exercise are always good! If I can't get out of the building, I at least get up and move around (running up and down stairs works). If I've had a stressful day and want to blow it off at home, I crank up the tunes and get on the treadmill (seriously, physical activity goes a long way toward changing my stress level and moods). I also find that once the stress level starts to subside, I'm able to start working through various scenarios that will start the process of working through the stress.

So true, Renee--moving the body starts the process of displacing pent up stress. I try to walk outside everyday! Thx for sharing!

Using the acronym GRIT I have found a few ways to handle stress.
G- Gratitude starting with my first thoughts of the day. Before getting into that needs to be done I express gratitude for what I have and will experience.
R- Rest never underestimate the power of good quality sleep
I- Inskilling (totally made up this word) but it means to work on my own emotional intelligence, communication with others, emotional regulation
T- Transformation of thought (reframing) it is important to not only know your stressors and how those stressors impact your thoughts and feelings
