In ten words or less, what's your best answer for "Why do you want to work at this company?"

Please chime in, I'm hoping to get as many answers as possible! My answer would be "I am a dedicated user and I can help you."

I'm impressed by your company’s values and can be impactful. (That's a tough challenge! It took me a while to get it to 10 words or under.)

All these responses are great! My perspective is that regardless of what you say (or if you play by the 10 word rule) just make sure to be authentic and have it jive with the rest of your conversation. Also, if you're facing multiple interviews, and they're all asking the same question, make sure you can speak to that. I'd say something like, "Well, Sue asked me that same question, and I said 'X,' but after our conversation, I'd also have to add "Y."

WOW - that is so helpful! In panel interviews it is so difficult to keep it fresh and sincere. The worst part is typically the most important decision makers is at the end of the day.

If you've had the opportunity to network with people already employed there (beyond the recruiter/interviewer) this is a great time to reference those engagements. During my last round of job searching I was able to connect with current employees via my own network before engaging in the recruitment cycle, which enabled me to talk about (1) established relationships within their organization, but also (2) discuss the things their current employees were loyal/passionate/driven about and how that really resonated with me and my own interests and goals.

I actually made a video about this in my channel. But overall I would not do less than 10 words. I'd say aim for a 30-1min answer The key is to never talk about YOU but more about what THEY want and need wand how you can solve their problems. The framework includes "I want to join this company because of 3 reasons: 1) talk about company's mission & what you can solve 2) talk about team's mission and what you can solve 3) your personal experiences with the product & passion" Link here for reference https://youtu.be/l4VQvxUXNks

On your job posting, you emphasized [fill in blank]. I have been looking for an opportunity to [fill in blank] because that is a key motivator for me. I was able to experience [fill in the blank] when I [briefly share the experience and why it was fulfilling]. You should be able to construct a 30 second response that's something like this. I would avoid vague, altruistic responses without any meat. As a hiring manager, I want to know who you are and whether you will be engaged in this setting.

If I was in an interview and they asked, this is my first thought: "I'm passionate, motivated, and I expect you are as well."

Mine would be, "I'm here for a reason. I can be valuable to you." (11 words!)
