After an assessment test and four interviews, I didn't get the job.

I'm a big proponent of the mantra, "rejection is protection," but this job I felt in my bones was such a great fit. I've been on the hunt since March and interviewed with many companies, even private equity firms (what I call Vought Int'ls for being toxic for society - 'The Boys' reference). I reached final interviews 3 other times before this one but didn't make it for reasons on the company's end (budgets, re-leveling of position, etc. ). I really wanted this job, though. Its mission was something I believed in, and they chose someone else who was a "better fit." The rejection for this one hits deep. As I'm faced with continuing the job hunt, my enthusiasm and optimism have deflated. This rejection makes me feel like I don't fit in anywhere. I'm not sure how to keep going on the job hunt journey. My tank is empty. My confidence is damaged. For anyone scoring interviews and getting job offers, I want you to consider yourself blessed and highly favored. Make the best of the offers you get. Some of us are just not good enough in the job market. I don't wish this heartbreak on anyone. And I survived cancer saying this sh*t! I wish you all the best in your professional journeys. Don't end up like me. Be better.
