I was introduced to an opportunity through a recruiting firm. I found out that they have a model of keeping their profit margins at 80-100%. So, they will tell the client I cost $200 per hour and give me $40-$50 of it. I did not realize this until the negotiations started to get drawn out. As much as the employer wants me, they can't get these funds approved. I can't blame them! It's outrageous. I know it's not going to work out and it's a shame that this is how we got introduced. I was going to reach out to the person who would have been my boss (we really hit it off) just to solidify the connection, but I'm unsure of what to say. As a direct hire, they cannot consider me for at least a year now. How would you approach this?
