Will we ever Travel Again?

As a luxury travel consultant, my business has been severely impacted by the pandemic. With travel alerts at an all time high and conditions constantly changing between states and countries (Hello UK lockdown announcement today), it's been exceedingly tough to properly offer the expertise I pride myself on typically offering my clients. I miss traveling like I miss a beloved and am beyond ready to get out there to inspire and show others how it can be done. As a result, I've finally booked myself a scouting trip for this week, but before I head out, I'm curious if any of you all feel ready to travel for leisure. And if so, would having the personal anecdotes of a trusted agent source help? Thanks for responding !

I am BEYOND ready to travel! However, I have a compromised immune system so I definitely will have to wait until I am fully vaccinated and when I am I would love recommendations from a travel agent on places safe to travel to. I know places are opening back up but every locale has different rules about traveling during this time so if a travel agent has already done the leg work for me it will make it easier for me to decided where to travel.

I am so ready to travel! I have a senior applying to college so maybe when his acceptances come in we can make a short trip, maybe even fly. I know some people who have travelled to the Caribbean and Mexico seemingly without any issues.

We drove to Florida in July and we're flying to Hawaii tomorrow.

Yes, I am ready to travel. I have made about 8 road trips since the pandemic to see family. I am willing to fly with a mask. However, I am not willing to travel until locations are open. At some locations, restaurants indoor dining is still closed, indoor attraction are closed or have limited hours, and some spas are closed or have limited facilities e.g. steam room closed. I will wait until everything at a location is open. Why travel to a pleace where someof the thing you want to do are not open?

I traveled with my family on two leisure trips since the pandemic began (once in July and once in October). I can tell you that even as an airline employee, I was a bit anxious because it had been a few months. However, as soon as we got to the airport, that anxiety passed. The airport lines were adequately spaced, facilities were clean and people were wearing their masks. The airline had taken multiple steps to ensure customer safety including having additional staff at the TSA lines to clean the security bins. When we got to the gate, the aircraft was clean, there was plenty of spacing, prepackaged snacks and water, wipes, and hand sanitizer. I wasn't sure how my kids would manage their masks, but they did great. We were visiting family, so I didn't have concerns about hotel, rental car, etc. Perhaps someone else can chime in with their experience.

I'm BEYOND ready to travel. Yet while I'm far from an anti-masker, I don't want to travel until mask requirements are over. I hate wearing them so much (again, not an anti-masker. I just hate wearing them).

Hi there! I definitely feel the want to travel but I am not yet ready to say that I'm ready to travel for leisure (or even work) quite yet. Hearing personal anecdotes would go a long way for me towards feeling more comfortable so I think that is a great idea. Even creating some tips for the airport, hotels, and how to overcome common issues people may face in the "new normal" would be so helpful!
