Oh, here we go again. Another group of people who feel like they've be slighted by those in charge and they want justice. I worked in Engineering for 45 years for various companies and I was never in a position of supervision, so I'm writing this from the perspective of one of the working employees. And one thing I noticed in most every company were those employees who did sloppy work and wasted countless hours talking to their lazy cronies about how badly they were being treated by supervision. Why can't people take a hard look at themselves and evaluate their terrible work ethic instead of trying to blame others. Over the years I've seen countless people who should have been fired but supervision put up with their laziness, for what reason, I don't know. It's way past time for people to get over themselves and start paying their dues. If people would give their employers a decent days work for the wages they get, they'd discover that they would be treated well by management. People, get over yourselves and quit being so damned lazy!!!!!

Your experience is YOUR experience. Others have had a very different one.

Everyone has the right to voice their own experience. No one should be shut down because of someone else's bias. There are cases where people are complainers and lazy. Those are in my experience as an HR Exec the exception, not the rule. Most cases, people are treated unfairly either for a myriad of biases that exist in every one of us. We all draw from our own experience as to how to treat people. So let's take a breath and offer everyone the benefit of doubt, and not accuse people of being lazy, when we don't really know all the details of what is happening in their life. And their own experiences.

Hi Daniel, your post is not clear as to the targeted audience. Is this a general screed directed against the population of the entire FairyGodBoss family? If so, I'm not sure what you were looking to accomplish. Perhaps you could clarify if you would like to be taken more seriously.

Ah. So to clarify, you were, indeed, targeting your misogynistic and racist screed to the entire FairyGodBoss community.
Here's what I see: After my own decades of experience in the workplace, it has been my observation that incompetent and underperforming slackers frequently attempt to blame their own failings on others, and this most often takes the form of a blanket condemnation of whole demographics who are only manipulating a broken system. The system, of course, being broken because it has not sufficiently favored the obvious superiority of the White Male.
As for your unsolicited stories of your sexual escapades, all I have to offer there is my first reaction of, "The gentleman doth protest too much, methinks."

Ms. Mullin, would you not agree that an employer is paying for your time doing the job that you were hired to do? So if you're are spending a lot of time during working hours talking on the phone to friends or in the lounge gabbing with associates at work, are those considered to be company enhancing endeavors? I believe it's important to give your employer your full time attention since the company is paying a significant price for your time. As for your comment about, "unsolicited stories of your sexual escapades," I don't know where that came from, except maybe from your own imagination. If you're still gainfully employed, I suggest you get busy and do your job instead of spending time on your companies computer for personal reasons.

Daniel, you appear to be an angry man who by your own description worked for 45 years in a single industry and was never promoted past individual contributor. This speaks volumes of how valuable your own contributions were considered to be. Your sexual comments were explicit in your previous response which was so egregious it was deleted by the moderator.
I will not be responding to you again. Please take your trollish behavior somewhere else.

Ms. Mullin,
I worked the the aerospace industry as an engineering contract employee, thus I was brought in by many companies during my 45 year career, and my services were in demand enough for numerous companies to use my services any time they had a large contract to fulfill. I was knowledgeable, inventive, hard working and dependable, thus I made a good living for my family. Not only did companies contract for my abilities, but they usually paid all of my travel expenses and they always furnished me with meals and lodging. As for being an angry man, I'm not... rather I say it like it is, the case being that many direct employees, both male and female, waste their value on negligence rather than giving their employer an honest days work for the pay they receive. If you somehow believe that indolence is the sign of good character, then you're part of the problem.
