Suit up for the Interview and Risk my Current Job?
I'm in a difficult spot as the phone and now formal interview happened within a few days of each other. I often have back-to-back meetings so I blocked off an hour so I didn't have anything pending during the Zoom call.
Low and behold, a meeting was added right before the call and I'm stuck in a sticky situation. The online call flows into my Zoom interview and I have to switch computers and change beforehand.
To further complicate matters, our office dress code has relaxed while working from home. I always strive to look professional but not to the extend if I was working in the office. The rest of my team is comfy casual.
Since it's Super Bowl weekend, our manager decided it's dress-down Friday so I'm stuck. I wouldn't wear a suit on a normal work-from-home occasions so how can I justify tomorrow's attire?
Wearing a suit would stick out like a sore thumb and call attention to my next call. On the other hand, I don't have time to change before the Zoom interview. I was planning on wearing a suit and now I'm wondering if a nice sweater that I can don stating I was cold would suffice? I'd appreciate your advice!
