Curly Hair

I am taking some time in this social distancing where I don't have to do my hair everyday to learn the crazy that is my curly hair better. I have shorter (but growing it out), not super thick, but pretty darn curly hair. I would like to make it curl better without the frizz and be able to refresh without washing every day. I also workout everyday, which makes the refresh a bit harder. I want to embrace my curls but not look like Shirley Temple. I also want my hair to look good during the humid summer I know is coming eventually. So, any product, method, tool recommendations?

I am currently on my curly hair journey. I've been heat-free for over one year. It has been by far the most rewarding & frustrating experience. One thing I can say is that it requires a lot of patience. You will go through much trial & error trying different products, and spend a lot of money (lol). The most important things for me are prepping it on wash day & getting shape cuts regularly. I use primarily MIELLE products. Leave-in conditioner & coiling custard are fab. Tip: Apply gels/creams in shower while your hair is still wet! Your curls will clump up & dry better. Use a t-shirt to dry off your hair. This will eliminate frizz. Hope this helps!

Hi! I have hair a lot of thick curly hair. For me the braiding method works when I shower at night, it helps control the craziness. I have found that using a leave-in conditioner helps A LOT to control the frizz. I use the Garnier Fructis. It's inexpensive and works great for my hair. They have different blends, there is a Coconut Oil for curly hair that I've recently started using that I love. Funny thing is I cannot use their shampoos or conditioners because they dry my hair out but their leave-in conditions work so well for me. I have 4 different kinds. :) It's all about experimenting with different products to see what works with your hair type an where you live, I'm in Florida so frizz central all summer. Good Luck!

I have thin, curly-wavy hair that is pourus but not dry. I keep mine long and often braid it right out of the shower to keep it low maintenance. But have kept it short too! I find that AG curl cream has made a big difference for me when I wear mine curly, and at night or when working out, I pin up sections in the curl pattern to try and keep it under control and not have to wash it daily. I use the pin method when short too. I don't love the products from Devacurl, I found most of the ones they have dries my hair out.
