I recently interviewed at a company that I had actually worked with as a partner in the past via another company.
Everything was going great! I had a phone screen with the in-house recruiter, then had an interview with the manager of that position, then interviewed with a senior in that role, then interviewed with the director of the team and the director of a collaborating team. In between every interview, the in-house recruiter reached out to me and was very communicative, briefed me on every next step and expectation, etc. There was a LOT of contact throughout the whole process... and then suddenly, they ghosted me after weeks of interviewing!
They stopped communicating altogether!
They didn't even send me a rejection notice. I reached out to the recruiter after they ghosted me for two weeks to get an update on whether the role had been filled, and they continued to ignore me. So it's been a whole month now since I last had an interview, I decided to email them and withdraw my application yesterday. Why did I do this? Because their behavior directly went against their core values which was a huge part of why I applied and was something I brought up in my interviews when they asked me why I wanted to work with them.
Why would a company ghost someone suddenly after they're near the end of the interview process, not even reject them, and deny any updates ?
Extra notes: I work in tech, role is for a technical implementation function.
