I love that a ton of people already said this but the best advice I got that I still remember today almost 10 years later was to take a few moments to just sit and look around. I still remember pausing while eating dinner, and looking around and seeing everyone smiling and laughing and dancing. It was such a wonderful moment. Congratulations!!

1. Comfy shoes for the reception. 2. Have someone bring an emergency kit - at a minimum bring pins - straight pins, safety pins and bobby pins - as they can fix a lot of disasters. 3. No worries. It's one day, and it will go by so quickly. Enjoy the good moments and laugh away anything that might not go perfectly.

Whatever happens - as long as at the end of the day you are married it was a raging success. My motto was "All I NEED is a groom to marry, and someone to officiate - everything else is gravy" and truly I was the chillest person on our wedding day because that was all I cared about. :)

Have fun, I had such a ball, it was a whirlwind. Have some food put aside, I got no food the whole night with dancing and greeting people. Invest or ask a friend to attend to little issues, the dj played the wrong song while I did my entrance but I was so happy that I didn't notice. So a little help and taking the time to just have fun are my recommendations. Enjoy and Congrats

My brother is getting married next Saturday too! Just enjoy the day and the people who are with you. Know that SOMETHING will go wrong (because it always does) and it will make a funny story in the future.

Take a few minutes the night before to visualize the three things you are looking forward to the most on your wedding day. Not everything goes perfect but these three things will and will leave you feeling that you had the best wedding day ever. Congratulations!

I got this piece of advice right before my wedding day & followed it & was soo happy I did. Carve out some time JUST for you on the wedding day... I slept in my childhood room/home by myself the night before & woke up with my dog. And I just had about an hour to lay in bed that morning cuddling the dog before the madness started... it was perfect & I was so thankful I had carved out some me time.

I second this! The day will involve a lot of thinking about others so sneak this in wherever you can. Congratulations!

Remember it is a wedding DAY, that is the beginning of a long and loving marriage. Make sure you spend time with the groom. If there is something that he wants to do, then do it. Have the caterer or a friend pack a care package of your food and if possible drop it off at where you are spending your wedding night. Don't stress, enjoy the day. Best wishes for a wonderful marriage.

Make a point of talking to your guests, and ignore your fascist photographer (at least my photographer was a drill sergeant - “Come here! Go there!”.) The day flies by SO quickly. Make it about family and friends who are honoring you with their presence, not about the photographs. And if something goes wrong, consider it good luck. The van carrying my wedding cake to my reception hall got cut off in traffic, and it slid across the back in a buttercream avalanche. The panicked caterer ran and slapped together 3 different store-bought bakery cakes as my wedding cake. I was too nervous to really notice, though I did think it looked a little weird. Happiness always to you and your spouse!
