1. Be PRESENT: From looking at my phone while someone is talking, to typing an email during a meeting - this is the year of reducing multitasking to be more present and productive! 2. Eat many little meals, not a million snacks: I've always been someone who eats throughout the day (things I thought were healthy, cucumbers, air pop corn, apples) - but it never filled me up! I'm focusing on making quality, healthy filling little meals throughout the day! 3. Take more "off the grid" trips: One of my favorite vacations this year was a camping trip where we had no service - you totally forget the value of being outdoors with no connection to the world for a few days. I want to take more trips where I'm forced to disconnect.

Yess. I love all of these goals. I think health is so important, and trips help alot with mental health and wellness.

1. No fast food. I will go back to cooking a big meal on Sunday and packing it up for lunch so I have no excuse to go out for fast food. 2. Eliminate sugar. It is just bad for you! 3. Eliminate stressful people.

As I sit here typing this from home because of my 4th bad cold/cough this year, my health is priority #1 in 2020! As a woman in her late 50's I can definitely tell the difference in bodily issues the last few years and I am not happy with any of it! LOL I have already taken some necessary steps to get started: 1. Found a new doctor and had a physical done. No major issues. Mammogram and colonoscopy are scheduled soon, so as long as they check out we move on to Step 2: 1. Incorporate a new sustainable, healthy-eating plan into our household. I got How Not to Die and How Not to Diet for Christmas. The doctor focuses on proper nutrition in a mindful way. 2. Incorporate a daily exercise routine. Small steps first. In the past I have tended to try to go from couch potato to marathoner overnight and that lasts for about a week! This time, it will be finding a buddy to walk with at lunch. Using our company gym or signing up for a class. That's all I am going to tackle initially so that hopefully, I can make the changes stick. Too many tries and fails over the years. Don't want that.

Working on one small change at a time. After finally getting over an injury, first on list is a regular running routine. Then I’ll pick a new one!

1. Eliminating stress whenever and wherever I can. 2. Incorporating more mindfulness into my daily routine. 3. Revamping my physical activity schedule to fit my work-from-home hours. Much of my work is sedentary (content strategy and freelance writing), though I do teach private yoga sessions part time. I find I do best when I create and post a training schedule, as I used to do when I trained for (and coached) 5Ks, 10Ks and marathons. I need variety so I don't get bored.

I love this. I definitely need to give up dairy in the New Year. My body does not process it the same as I get older.
