Quarantine Habits

People are getting so creative (which I love) about spending their new found time at home. I have been filming a Webseries with some artists via Zoom and have found it to be so different and challenging in the best way. What have you found to be the best use of your time, and the most enjoyable?

I have been catching up on reading books, as well as taking courses I am interested, plus trying to learn being more creative and my goal is to upload and create videos on YouTube. Using Fairygodboss to connect with others, and other platforms that offer virtual connections. It's been bittersweet however I am enjoying the time at home and doing my best!

I'm hopelessly addicted to the Quarantined Cabaret on Facebook. It give amateurs and professionals a platform to showcase their work.

i have been online working very hard to learn all the ins and outs of all the software I use at work that I have "self--taught" - learning for real. Studying my BUTT off - may be online, but still have papers due. And finally, I created "Story time with Grandma Lili" as a way of connecting with my grandchildren, and it's getting some notice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qY0DfEyXc_Q&t=8s

I've started doing a lot more yoga! It's a great way to wake myself up or calm myself down before bed

When life is busy I've found the start and end of the day are the times you can control the most. What a way to spend them :)

I've been taking online courses from Yale, Wharton School of Business and others. I figured since my workload is less than usual, I might as well hone current skills and learning new things.

So great! I was just reading about how some of the top universities are opening up online courses for free. So kind of them to share this with people. https://www.businessinsider.com/free-online-courses-from-best-colleges

Turning to word games when I'm feeling unproductive! They can be social through the imessage Game Pigeon extension, or a longer solitary activity if I'm needing one. My sister and I have been doing the NYT crossword over breakfast, which has been a fun way to start our days.

I am so impressed...the NYT crossword is no joke. My grandma did those every morning for years...your minds will definitely stay fresh with that activity!

Definitely! It's taken us a while to get familiar with them, and we're definitely guilty of using the auto check features...

I am a lifelong learner, so I've really enjoyed watching Webinars, being part of FGB chats like this one, and reading. My mantra is never stop learning. I like keeping my brain stimulated, and learning new things is very energizing for me.

I work from home normally, but I have been doing some house projects and just leaning into the slowing down a little.

What a powerful mantra: never stop learning. This is definitely the time to put that into high gear.
