Last year I was promoted to a management position within my work team; for some background I had been with this department for a little over three years when I was promoted, had participated in a mentoring program, taken management classes when they were offered and learned all job duties within the department. I was promoted over a coworker who had only been with our department for about a year and who had shown no interest in promoting until this position became available and did not have even close to the same amount of knowledge and skills that I have. This coworker has filed grievances over not getting the promotion, ruined any happiness I could have had about being promoted and has just down right been a miserable B since. I have to manage this person and I honestly just don't even want the job anymore. My other team members are always telling me what a great job I am doing but honestly I don't think my heart is in it anymore. I do not want to let the rest of my team members down by leaving nor do I want to lose the pay, but I just cannot see myself putting up with the negative Nancy anymore. Please help!
