How to optimize your blog for Google ranks? Any tips?

I own a few blogs for some time but have never been able to rank my content. Is there an easy way out to do that? At times, I feel it's pointless to keep adding great content when you don't have people visiting.

Hey, I do SEO, so my secret is actually, after the content is written, and published, 1) just update everything with 2019 the year, even if published earlier and at least one H3 tag or H2 with the 2019 so that is is recent content, 2) Make a Video and find someone to tag your Video with the same content, you can easily make videos lots of apps out there for it. (we are thinking SEO here) This way you have two main sources both Google of course with the same, similar content in different formats. 3) If you use WordPress must do SEO onpage, which is easy, just use the plugin Yoast, free version is OK. AND here's my secret sauce, MUST use WP SEO Structured Data Schema- also pretty self explanatory. Fill in everything, Articles including alternate heading, and all fields for each post. 4) Research Ping list, and find one, most work, and then after you have done that work, use your URL to Ping through one of those ping sites. Then wait and watch and check if your site and the articles are indexed. Check via site:roseparadis.com or whatever your site is. Just search and you will see how many pages are even indexed by Google. Then https://whatsmyserp.com/serp-check Choose several keywords you are trying to rank for and check your position. Thats step 1 and totally DIY.

Hi, I don't think there's a truly "easy" way. Do you read Moz or any of the articles on how to rank for SEO? Part of it is that you have to pick topics that aren't too competitive when you're starting out but that are still relevant to your area of writing....in some ways, the more specific and less competitive the area you're trying to rank for, the better you'll do, even if that's an area that's adjacent to what you really want to be known for. Think of it as stepping stone content, etc.

Hey Jenny! If you're trying to rank for keywords, you'll want to make each blog article you write very specific to the particular query. You also would need other sites to link to your articles (and social shares) to increase visibility. The issue with personal blogs/sites is domain authority, generally (Moz has a number of articles on this); if your site is newer/no links pointing to it, you're likely not going to rank. It also depends on the topic. If you're writing about something that's covered by well-established sites or blogs, (or products), it'll be tough to rank. SEO is an ever-changing beast, I wish you the best of luck!

Thanks Nina. I know a bit of Moz and other tools but have not been able to understand what algorithm they work on. You're right...it's good to concentrate on content that is not day to day topic. The keywords may not have search volumes but at least I'll have a chance to rank that content.
