Feeling less

So I didn't go to College, *insert everyones disgusted face* I feel I can't be a strong woman because of that. Everyone only cares about Women who are beautiful and rich. I am neither of those things, so does that make me less of a woman if I'm just working a manual labor job? My whole life I never wanted to be a CEO and even now as a 25 year old office jobs seem so boring to me. I never wanted my life to revolve around work but these days it seems if you don't work yourself to death you are a loser.

Empowering women and beyond!

I don't have a college degree. That never stopped me. I continue to be the best I can be and it's been noticed. Experience can equate to a degree. Now who says you're not beautiful? Every woman is beautiful! Every woman has a uniqueness about her and that is what makes her beautiful. Being rich & beautiful are two traits I do NOT look for in anyone. It really doesn't matter to me if they are rich or if they are "beautiful". What matters to me is their personality and if they are a good person. Those two traits are truly what make people rich and beautiful.

My sister "only" had a GED and retired as a Director of an international organization. A college degree isn't always necessary. If you enjoy your current job, congratulations! Don't let other people's prejudices influence your happiness. If you want to try something else, Google "jobs that require no degree" or even "jobs that require no experience" for alternatives. Chin up and be proud of who you are!

Some of the most amazing and highly intelligent women I know at my current job do not have college degrees now or didn't have one when they started working and earned it along the way. They work in the energy industry and understand the complex science behind delivering electric, gas, and steam energy to keep our city powered. If office work isn't for you, I encourage you to explore your options and check out careers in the technical/skilled trades (utilities, construction, carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, green energy, etc.). Many of these trades have apprentice programs or paid on-the-job training that teaches you the work from the very basics. These jobs are also well compensated, come with benefits, and have defined career paths attached. Not going to sugar coat it - these are often mail dominated fields, so it takes some personal courage and persistence to be succeed. That being said, I've witnessed many women excel in these career paths and do meaningful work that they take great pride in each day.

I AM A GOOD WOMAN

So you did not go to college, big deal. You were born with ambition, intelligence, drive and the ability to speak up for yourself. Not everyone was created to go to college but everyone has to the smarts to do a good job in the area that they want. It is up to you and your desire. I did not get a associates degree until after I started working and it took me years not the normal 2 years but over 6 years. I was very good in math when I graduate high school and was able to get a job in an accounting position posting payments. It took me a few weeks but I did accomplish the mastering of it.You know the opposite can happen to a person. After a few years experience in various industries I was hire at an insurance company and was able to move up a few grades. Then my ideal boss retired and so did the director. The new director did not appreciate the fact that I came in from the outside world and not up through the corporate ranks and had 25 years of accounting experience. Found out later more than anyone in the units she was in charge of. So I was look down on, put down constantly. I never wanted to be in management. I felt if I work the hours I wanted paid the hours, titles do not impress me, people do and what they accomplish not their titles. When a person leaves a position, the position stays but the person leaves. So think of your well being first, and what you want to do. Even if you take just a course or two at a local community college. Think of you before anyone else. They will not be around all the time. But you will be for a very long time and should you be happy during that time?

We all have what I call personal myths: those false beliefs about ourselves, the world and our place in it...they are the sirens songs (remember the mythical Sirens who would sing so beautifully that sailors couldn't resist their songs and would follow them to their death on the rocks?) and their only job is to pull you off course from your dreams. Your personal myths are doing their job, keeping you scared so you stay in your comfortably uncomfortable comfort zone. I work with the Trifecta of Unstoppable (Heartset, Mindset, Skillset)...everything starts with alignment with your Heartset, whatever it is that you want to do/be/have. Your Heartset is your true North, your innate wisdom, your Highest Self. One quick way to practice connecting with it is to get quiet, settle into yourself and journal on the question, "what do I want?" and following up every item with "because..." This exercise allows you to tease out what your Heartset wants you to know (remember, you have all of your answers inside of you!)...outside of whatever your Sirens are singing to you. Clarity is power, so I hope this exercise resonates with you and brings you the clarity to see what your next step(s) are, rooted firmly in your Heartset!

Im so sorry you are feeling this. Society standards are depressing to face, to say the least. Why not list the adversities you have faced and how! You are strong! I can tell even by your post! Are your bills paid (which is your lifestyle basically) or on track to keep the bills taken care of? Are you warm and dry? Are you supportive to friends and family? Im sure you are and there’s a strength! Pretty is in the eye of the beholder, Example I wear tailored dresses (all found on the sly at thrift stores) people think I took hours getting ready. Nope matter of minutes! I have always counted pretty as clean and respectable! So you dont want to be a ceo neither do I! I have loads of other goals and ambition that doesnt fit society standards I just shrug and say oh well!

Katie: lady come on where is that smile! Are you serious about what has been detailed above? You are 25 and you are still young woman! 1. Good thing is u realize that you want life to evolve... this is what’s up! Ayeeeee ???? 2. What do you wanna do? ? 3. Write out a list- this list includes what interest you it could be grand or simple it just needs to interest you. ? 4. Once you do that take each interest and brainstorm; what would I like to do with this interest? ? 5. Now that you have an interest narrowed down look into some 2 year colleges and get started in living your best life. ☺️ Now, if college life isn’t for you VOCATIONAL SCHOOL TRAINING! Super Dope .. MANY VTS Alums make a really good living. ? As for your self worth.. you gotta find that honey and make sure your around people who are not Emo that is no longer where it’s at (my opinion). Katie, you are definitely a strong woman! The ability to know what you want and go after it is something that's really unique. You know that you don't want to be in an office or work as a CEO, so don't! I bet you're definitely killing it wherever you are. Please don't let the pressure of the "successful working woman" image discourage you. You define your success!
