Are you buying new clothes?

I've always loved online shopping, and now that it's the only safe option, I've been exploring my favorite sites. But is anyone buying new clothes? I feel like I'm not even touching most of my closet these days, but maybe new clothes would get me motivated to get dressed up a bit.

Yes, but my "new" clothes have usually come from an online consignment shop for me and my daughter for the last few years. She's growing and used to wear school uniforms, so she didn't have a lot of casual outfits (that she hadn't outgrown). She has a lot of dance/fine arts components to her eLearning, and to keep her motivated (and me) I've bought a few, cute leggings and tops, for both of us. I am preparing to ramp up my job search as soon as I graduate in a few weeks, and desperately needed more professional clothes, even if it's for video interviews. I like to be prepared and have been slowly building my professional wardrobe for the last few months. This website also allows me to clean out our closets as well, so I can put some of our things out on consignment.

I started off buying clothes to wear to the office, the deals were too good to pass up. Now I am by more casual lounging type clothes since it does not appear that we will go back to the office until 2021. Now, I am being ultra selective in my clothes buying and only purchase if 60% or greater off and free shipping. But it is a good time, for me, to rid my closet of 10+ year old scoopnecked t-shirts with newer ones.... Oh, and machine washable!

I bought new clothes because apparently I have to wear them especially pants in public.

thredUP was having a great sale - 40% off; so I scooped up a few dresses, jacket and cardigan.

I told myself I wouldn't buy anything until this is over, as I'm not going out and about (obviously). However, I did come across a good sale at Nordstrom recently and bought a couple items priced at <$20 each. I feel like money is tighter right now so I'm trying to avoid spending on "wants" and save for a rainy day! It's definitely tough though.

I buy discounted or clearance t-shirts that I wear around the house, so I don't ruin my good clothes when I doing house work. Some were getting to the point that they needed to be tossed out. I just ordered 6 new t-shirts that were on sale from Old Navy.

I took this time to Maira Kondo my apartment and got rid of or threw away of tons of stuff. Most of the clothes I kept, not that I wear them that much.

I have been buying. One of my favorite stores, White House Black Market, has had some amazing sales. I've also been putting on makeup and not wearing sweats so I feel motivated. The main thing is I wear slippers all day or sneakers to work out or walk the dog. We celebrated my birthday with a Zoom party so I got dressed up in a new outfit, including my high heels! As for clean-outs, I either sell or donate.

I have been buying pretty blouses and set a bright lipstick next to my monitor for all my video calls. I feel confident, sit up straighter and it feels good. From the bottom down, I am always in slippers and stretchy pants ;-)
