This isn't what normally runs here but I don't know where else to turn.
I recently halfway applied to a new to me job board, Upward. Something about it made me suspicious so I googled them mid-process and sure enough, they seem to be a scam site. I stopped but had already entered my email address. I started getting job alerts, some of them looked normal and not helpful but then ones that were obviously scammy started coming. I attempted to redirect them in my gmail account, skipping the inbox and going into a folder (like I do job alerts from the other sites.) I noticed they were popping up in my folder for Ziprecruiter (the one I've actually gotten results from). I assumed I had made a mistake with the way I set up the filter so redirected them again. Now I don't seem to be getting the regular alerts from Ziprecruiter or Glassdoor (the two best ones). Has anybody else had this experience? It seems they've put a bug into my account. I find it hard to believe there are just no alerts for these two job boards for two days.
Please be aware, there are a lot of fake job boards out there. To hiring managers, are you really only reaching out to candidates via email? I've had two so far that worked that way. One I actually interviewed for (yes, a face to face during a pandemic for a job that's easily work from home). The other one I'm waiting for a final decision which is supposed to come "early this week" so that's part of my anxiety. Will they send me an email via Ziprecruiter which I will miss?
Any feedback is appreciated!
