Update. I’ve been out of work since May of this year. Countless interviews, applications blindly and recommendations from friends , it was a rough year. $1500 a month for COBRA, just a real train wreck. I applied for a job in August , received an offer 2 weeks ago and met with the CEO and my manager. The role was for a Sr. Director but they made me a Vice President instead. I will oversee their IOT security strategy in North America. The pay is 20k less than what I was making but it’s a new career field for me, a great title and most of all I met with senior leadership last week on a playbook to enter the market here. My point, don’t give up. Your time is coming , be open to a new field and just be your best. I have another offer coming but I think it’s an individual contributor role and it’s selling vulnerability scanning on steroids. The pay is 40k more but I’m not in a leadership position nor do I set strategy or have a seat at the table. Would love your insight but my gut says stay with the VP role. Keep at it and don’t give up. Have a great day!!!
