Hi everyone! I've been doing my own thing and a little consulting for the last ten years, but now am looking for f/t work for financial reasons. One of the things I loved about consulting is the flexibility to pick up my kids from school. I feel that is the only time they have to talk to me (kids are in middle school). I think I'm about to get an offer, and it's a private, small business. I gave generic answers about what I'm looking for in the next company, and they seem to fit, but now I'm kicking myself for not bring up remote earlier. Would you bring it up when they present the offer? Would something like "I'm really excited about this job, but realized one of the things I'm going to miss is the flexibility I had in picking up my kids from school. Most of the time it will be late, but there are couple of days when they do finish early. Would the team be open to me working remotely in the late afternoon (e.g. I leave at 3, but then get online and work at 4 pm on)? Does that sound entititled/bait and switch?
