I have been struggling with posting this issue for a while now, but maybe this forum can help. I am responsible for leading three major efforts this coming year and there is a co-worker on the team who openly resists any attempt I make to get status updates or other deliverables from them. This person has gone to our manager and said "they don't want to 'work' for me, because I am not their boss." My manager is supportive and tries to tell the person that they are responsible for taking my lead in these areas, but his reaction is to then be passive-aggressive...saying he will get to something but giving it to me at the last minute so I have no time to change it, etc.
Other than having everything come through our manager, which causes more work for her, or having her lay the law down to him...do you have any advice?
