Do most companies offer paid parental leave after 12 months of service?
I recently moved jobs and found out I’m pregnant. I’m ecstatic with both, however have learned that I do not qualify for my company’s 16 week paid leave (or any paid leave) because I will not have worked at the company for 12 months. My due date is 2 weeks from my one year work anniversary!
I am now on a mission to lobby for a parental leave amendment or exceptions, but am having trouble finding fine print discerning when employees are actually eligible for parental leave for other companies to use in my proof points for case.
Looking to understand if most companies have a 12 month service eligibility clause... and would love to hear from others who may have been in similar situations.
