Why sort of tuition reimbursement does your employer give?
I was recently told that in order to be promoted I need to earn a masters degree. Our corporate program offers up to $2500/yr (with an A grade) but this seems to pale in comparison with the actual cost for an MBA (25-35k). A number of friends in other companies have earned MBAs which their companies either paid for entirely or significantly. When I questioned my boss about the cost disparity his answer was “this is your expense because your the one benefiting from
it”. While I certainly agree I benefit, why bother offering a tuition program if it’s not meaningful?
