Reviving your career

I have been working in IT for last 12 years in the same company .. it worked out well for me as I had my son and got full support but every convenience comes at a cost. I cannot work overtime or commit to over demanding projects so my growth has been stagnant.. I want to make a job move but I really feel I can’t get the desired job..

First off, GOOD FOR YOU for setting boundaries with your employer and finding a way to maintain that balance! That's huge. Are you still in touch with people you've worked with in the past who have moved on to other roles? It might be a good time to reach out to them about why they left and what they left for. With that kind of a background, I think you can find a perfect role elsewhere with a bit of networking.

I know how overwhelming it can feel to make a change after being at a company for a long time. I'd recommend slowly starting to have conversations with people who have roles or work at companies that you'd be interested in. Take informational interviews to get a lay of the land and learn about positions and your marketability. It's very likely that you're in better shape to move on than you realize.
