COVID postponing family planning

Hi all, my fiancé and I were planning our wedding for this September, but in the light of recent events and considering that his parents in their 70s would need to make the trip from Canada to New Mexico and the safety of our family is clearly top top top priority... it seems that we may need to postpone. We have a great relationship and so I’m not too concerned with postponing a wedding, but I am concerned with what this means to our family planning. We both want kids, and we’re both in our late 30s. Looking at this timeline, I might be 40 by the time we’re trying to conceive... And that kind of freaks me out because our chances feel pretty slim. When I’ve talked with my doctor (who also happens to be a midwife), she didn’t seem to be too concerned. She told me to take folic acid and not worry. We’re active and healthy. But still... it just seems like the bulk of what I hear abt my chances of having a healthy pregnancy in my 40s is really discouraging. Do you have resources to share on having a *hard eye roll* geriatric pregnancy?

I think if your doctor isn't concerned, especially given that she is also a midwife, you're in good hands. But you could always ask her about resources with the reasoning that it will help you worry less.
