Unsolicited calls and inquiries from Recruiters in the Insurance Industry.

A couple of weeks ago I signed up for Monster and made my resume searchable. Since then I have received several calls and inquiries from Insurance Agencies headhunting for commission only sales personnel. I made my resume "private" in the hopes that it would stop/cut back the unsolicited calls. Anyone else have the same experience? FYI - I am not in the Insurance industry nor do I have "sales" or customer service on my resume as a key word.

I had the ame experience. It's pretty common. LinkedIn is really the place to be to find a job and build your network to find a job for you.

Yes, being in recruitment even I get calls from the Insurance industry - the best way to combat that is to add a line "Do not contact for Insurance Sales Positions, you can then make your resume searchable again because if it is on private no other companies can see it either.

Thanks All. I gave up on Monster and have since deleted my account. I have decided to stick with Indeed, Linked In and Glassdoor.

I actually had this happen with Glassdoor first. Years later with Monster. Either way; it was extremely annoying.

I feel like that's not right if your resume is private.

Yes! I set up my resume years back and was inundated with calls and emails for insurance sales jobs. I had no sales experience whatsoever, I couldn't decide if it was more annoying or amusing.
