Job Hunting

I'm on the job hunt at the moment and had job recruiters email me about a opening. Once, I responded via email with a time and date they ghosted me. The second time I reached out they ghosted me and also didn't say sorry or anything. Is this typical in terms of being professional ? I have also called and left voicemail.

I often get the same treatment from recruiters. Sometimes, they will ignore me for weeks and then resurface again. Other times they just disappear. Since it has happened at different stages in the process and not just when I've been the one reaching out, I think it is a communication skills issue. For them, there might be many applicants and jobs to keep straight, and they simply don't see it as a necessity to let you know if the job is no longer available. It is rude and unprofessional, but then again I see unprofessional behavior among experienced 'professionals' on a daily basis.

Do you have the feature where you can see if someone has opened your email?

Maybe the job is on hold, the description changed and you're no longer a fit, or you're somehow headed to his/her spam folder. Either way, I think it's not right to leave you hanging since the recruiter was the one who reached out about the opening. I wouldn't reach out further though.
