When I started at a tech company my team was me and my senior.
The "senior" was fresh out of college with literally no previous job experience. I had 10 years in the industry. I took the job and was promised flexibility. With 2 small kids I took a pay cut just to get a foot in the door. When I requested telecommuting my senior recommended it not be allowed because I shouldn't get "special treatment". She's now 6 months pregnant and I wonder if she's hoping she won't face the same treatment.
