Essential Oils

Do you use Essential Oils? What do you use them for and have you seen a difference?

I respect the benefits others experience with essential oils, but please, please, please be mindful of others if you use them at work. My hall-mate uses essential oils in an aroma diffuser in her office and it nearly kills me. Just because you find a scent beneficial doesn't mean everyone will. And please don't suggest I report her to my supervisor, since my supervisor uses them also. :(

Great point! Let's be mindful of "scent pollution" as it can really affect others - headaches, nausea, etc.

I have been using Tea Tree oil to clear up severe Athletes Foot. Antifungal creams & powders just weren't working.

Not often, but I do use peppermint when I have a headache and I think it helps!

I was introduced to the use of essential oils when I became a health coach. I enjoy using them for both the medicinal properties they offer but also the beautiful scents they offer!

Lavender is a big one! Obviously it has a calming aroma but the healing properties for skin is amazing. I've actually replaced neosporin with it (heals so much faster with it). I can go on with more oils that I have but that's the most important one I use.

Nurse turned research professional
01/13/20 at 3:46PM UTC
As a nurse, I’m equally as interested in holistic and homeopathic ways to heal the body and aid in wellness. I actually use multiple essential oils and now sell for the company I was introduced to. I was introduced to them after a patient assault left me with several fractured vertebrae in my back. I wanted no part of the narcotics they wanted to prescribe and a friend introduced me to an oil blend that had amazing pain relief properties. I was sold, it worked so well. I won’t turn this into a sales speech but I will say do your research and remember quality matters, as does the way the oils are sourced.
