2 year old is all about being Picky eaters or selective eaters!
My 2 year old boy will not each or touch the food unless if it's something he asks for! And of course, his choices are not always the best choices. He asks for chocolate, or chocolate milk, or crackers! I've been tried many times to offer different alternatives like plain milk, some vegetables/ fruits, and warm home-made food. However, he will reject them all for many hours. He even throws them all from his high chair.
Today, for a change , I listened to him. I gave him what he asked for first and offered the meal I wanted him to try within couple minutes afterwards. To my surprise he not only ate what he asked for but also finished the healthy option I provided him.
Listening to kids is a big step in parenthood. Parents usually get caught in frustration and fell helpless in these situations. It's best to take a step back and listen to kid's point of view. When they fell they've been heard, they respond better to the environment.
I feel fighting with a 2 year old toddler is like playing with the lion's tail. So best is to provide them what they ask for before we put our choice of food in front of them. I promise we'll never go wrong by hearing our kids. They feel the respect and in return learn to respect us! Please share your stories, thought with me. I'd love to hear from you all!
