What made you decide that your long term relationship needed to come to an end?

I've been in a long term relationship for over 6 years now. Everything started out great but over the last year things started to go down hill.

I think when you've spent that long in a relationship its very hard to end things. However, the fact that you are sensing something is really going in the wrong direction is a good first step. I think you've got to figure out how much of this is a permanent "downhill" situation vs. a short-term thing that can be fixed. There are always ups and downs but some downs are truly unsolvable whereas others may be situational...

My longest relationship was when I was 21-25. I think the main reason we broke up is because you grow and change so much during that time. By then end of it, I felt like a different person.
