I hate when women use exclamation points

Simply put: Exclamation points drives me up the wall. I mean seriously, how does reading "!!!!" not give you anxiety? Why has this become a thing and why are women giving into this thing? STOP. Please.

I also often feel like I seem too serious or curt if I don’t add an exclamation to a sentence. And feel it adds a sense of playfulness or just lightheartedness!

An exclamation point does not necessarily mean happiness. It is used to emphasize what is written in the sentence. I looked up the meaning online. Many people these days do not know how to use correct grammar.

I don't know who this IntentionGirl918357 is. Is this the "name" FGB assigned me?

Now I know, it was assigned. I'll keep it since I do have intentions!

People need to know when you mean it. Especially at work. So I sway away from using exclamation points unless I seriously want it to be known.

I agree with you. I always feel like if I'm not adding an exclamation point, I'll sound angry. It's like I'm forcing myself to sound happier to get the point across. I kind of wish they didn't exist.

My husband loves using this punctuation mark and quite frankly, I love when he uses it. Why are you blaming this on women? Go home!!!!!! <- (you're welcome)

Sorry but I think its true that women tend to do this more, especially in a business context. I find myself removing them for men and sometimes adding them for women recipients of my email. I stop myself when I notice it but a lot of times it is unconscious. I know that sounds a bit sexist but I feel like women expect each other to seem friendlier.

Geez, you sound like an angry person. No wonder happiness symbols drive you up the wall.
