Having a better career

I'm sitting at work right at this moment thinking about things that I want to pursue that I could have pursued a long time ago...like modeling. I started in middle school but never got to go any further because my mother decided to remove me and that reason was because she did not necessarily approve of me wearing makeup. I can totally understand that now as an adult because I'm not going to want my 13 year old having makeup splattered on her face either. Also I started writing as a young girl around the age of 8 years old and became a published author at the age of 13 and i have published 4 poetry anthologies. Why did I stop writing? Well for 1 my publisher ripped me off. I'm supposed to be getting paid and I haven't gotten one dime since I started and my books are available on amazon and Barnes and Noble. He keeps telling me that if they're not selling then I don't get paid but they have to be selling if they're going from one website another. I can be doing so much better but I settled for this job right here as a security officer.

Why not consider looking for jobs that are more closely aligned to what you want to do? A security officer job does not seem remotely related to writing

I can relate to the feeling of settling for a job while thinking about the wasted years and missed opportunities. I’m in a similar boat but It’s never too late to go after what you want. It’s a matter of making a decision and going after it!
