The USDA just announced that they recommend NOT washing raw meat because it can lead to cross-contamination and a high risk of illness. Likely due to the (potentially contaminated) water splashing all over surfaces in the kitchen while washing. I have washed meat and have seen it washed all of my life before cooking. I'm torn about whether to stop given these multiple warnings. Have you ever washed your meat? If so, will you stop now or keep washing as you always have?
