Change is good, lemonade is delicious!

Change is often perceived as scary, because it is unknown. The familiar is known and within our perceived control. Changes, are not, and thus by normal human nature, scary and something to be feared. As I work through a Change Management training deck, and am at the end of a two month period of seeking a new position and negotiating a 45%+ salary increase - within my same company - I can't help but be appreciative, excited and grateful for change. Whether it be a breakup, a divorce, a new car, a new house, a new habit or routine, losing a job to go find a new one, change is always good. It gets us out of our comfort zones and into the growth zone. Growth is where we learn about who we can be, and what amazingness that has to offer ourselves and the world. What changes can you make in your life that you've been dreading or putting off?

My partner and I close on our first home next week! (!!!!) (!! OH GOD NEXT WEEK !!) It's a BIG step for both of us, and will mean a lot more communication and change for us as we navigate being home owners and not renters. We'll have decisions to make and things to learn and stupid crap to buy (like a second shower curtain and a chest freezer) and I'll definitely be relying on him to rein me in on the "why can't I just buy it" front.

It's really small, but I've been re-organizing my home. It's a tedious task and something I was not wanting to do. But all of the changes have made me more organized and relieved a lot of anxiety!
