Truth!
As a job seeker, I'd say it's a good 50% of the time or MORE, that I spend a couple of hours preparing, then a 30-minute call with a recruiter , aka Screening Round, then..
crickets.....
Recruiters are HORRIBLE.

Not all recruiters are horrible, I wasn't. I'm still in the biz but helping recruiters hire students. If you have a degree, go back to your alma mater and get connected to other alums, go to events and also, use your University's recruiting system, if they have one.

I'm not a recent grad. And the post is about recruiters and candidates ghosting each other. I don't need a job, I have one, but I'd like to see the respect come back again in the hiring profession.

Agreed. I'm guessing all the ghosting is happening as the market is saturated with candidates. It's a numbers game as it always has been. I'll be in the mix with hundreds of recruiters soon and will ask about the ghosting going on and will share with you all here. Even those who apply and have had conversations are ghosted and our recommendation to all employers is to contact each candidate, even if it's a draft email, so they can have acknowledgement and move on. I treated people as people not just numbers but unfortunately I've been ghosted in my recruiting days when I was seeking. Wish more people would have better manners.
