My gosh, stop over explaining! As others have mentioned, say it was no longer a fit, you want to take your career in a different direction, you're looking for a new opportunity. No potential employer wants to hear about all this workplace drama at your last job, or the toxic environment you are leaving. We as women tend to over explain, and apologize, and fill empty space in conversations. If your last employer was truly that traumatizing, then please give yourself the gift of therapy to help process and move on from this time in your professional career. Whatever you do, do NOT let this creep into your interview with this new organization.
