While I've only heard rumors within my company about upcoming layoffs, it seems likely that one of my co-workers is at real risk of getting fired. The main reason is that this co-worker is "not strictly following company expectations" — they're sometimes a couple minutes late to a meeting or dressed more casually than the rest of the office.
To me, these feel like absurd reasons to let someone go, especially if there's nothing wrong with their work. They might deserve a warning, but it doesn't seem like just grounds for firing. What do you think?
