Yellow September

One year ago, me and my family faced one of the most difficult challenges that (probably) we could ever thought. Having a teenager, with depression, nowadays, believe me: it is tremendously challenging. Internet has opened so many doors that, sometimes, the consequences, are not reversed. I remember when I was young I faced so many complicated situations regarding friends, family, school, love, bullying... however, something really remarkable for me, I have never ever had suicidal thoughts. That’s why, when I see young folks facing a such complexity atmosphere, I try as much as I can working on my empathy. In Brazil, September is the month to call out our attention to those scenarios. We celebrate this month as “Yellow September” (Setembro Amarelo). Fortunately, me and my family, even with all challenges, got the opportunity to still have my cousin closer. We are fighting with love, empathy and forgiveness. In name of all people and families who truly understand the importance of “Yellow September”, and September 10th as the World Suicide Prevention Day, I call all of us to pay our attention on the mental health. Much more, being an Human Resource professional, I ask more: we should treat our employees respectfully, as the same way, we care the members od our families. We spend too much time at work. If we truly understand the work environment is an extention of all others relationships we build, we would see the society wished by our hearts is easy to get, as long as we dont create different personas in different places. Respect, love and communication are not easy to be practiced. However, their consequences, once we are commited, are able to build balance and save relationships (all kinds!). Lets call our awarness to mental health. Lets care eachother.!
