There are plenty of remote jobs (call centers, admin work) but even then any employer would expect that remote work is not a substitute for childcare. You may be able to hide this for a little while but you will need to secure childcare eventually.

I agree. Work from home does not mean no child care is needed. My husband works with someone who was just put on a PIP because she is not getting her job done. She went remote during covid, has refused to go back in to the office and has toddler. She was getting everything done before she went remote. Her duties have not changed. She was told she needed to find child care during the PIP session and burst into tears. I genuinely do not understand how people think they can do their job at home and cover child care at the same time. Especially if the hours in the position are not flexible.
