Deal-breaking resume mistake cost me my dream job — I'm so frustrated
I'm going through a career change, and I recently had an interview for a company I've always wanted to work for. I prepared for the interview thoroughly and was excited to nail the opportunity. A few minutes in, the interviewer started questioning me about older experiences on my resume. When he asked why they were relevant to this position, I spoke to my successes but I didn't do a great job of connecting the dots. I Unsurprisingly, I didn't get a second interview.
As I'm going through a career change, I'm really struggling to figure out what to keep on my resume and what not to include. Does anyone have any tips on this? If you've transitioned careers, how did you frame your old experiences to show you're prepared for new work?
