What to do when you were hired as a full time employee but paid as a contractor?
Hi there, I was hired to be a full time employee, and before signing my contract, confirmed that I'd be on a W2 and have full benefits within three months of hire. In my state, the role I'm doing is considered full time and should be W2, under the law. They do not follow guidelines for contractor work. It's illegal to be a FT employee without benefits, and now it's been a year since I joined on and have not been given what I was promised. I know Covid has been tough, but I've brought this up now 3 times and the bucket keeps getting kicked down the road, without a real answer. What legal rights do I have? Unfortunately, my contract is that of a contractors, but it's a misclassification. I only have my word and a text message to prove what she promised me.
