Do you find you are getting interviews based on your gender/race?
I was speaking to a recruiter who told me the company is only interviewing women for the role and prefers a woman of color. I was a bit taken aback by her information. I don't want to only be considered because of my gender or race. I felt this may have been the case last year when I was called for an interview for a role that honestly was a bit above my skill level. Once I made it through the 2nd round I was told I didn't have the skills they needed. I felt like I was used to check a box, "yes we interviewed a woman for the role, but we felt the man was better".
